Snowy Estes Park

Before leaving for our spike projects, the Alpine Unit went on a hike in the Estes Park section of the Rocky Mountain National Park.  We drove two hours from Denver to reach our destination, and when we got there, the snow had already started.  That area of the park is famous for being the elk breeding grounds this time of year, but we only saw a small group of them in a field by the side of a road.  I wasn’t able to get a picture because I was the one driving the van!  Even with the weather, the hike was a ton of fun and a great opportunity to bond with the unit before separating.
